Veteran target for the Boston Celtics No. 3) Kelly Olynyk

As Al Horford has shown this year, Boston Celtics reunions can turn out to be a real success and, the more we think about it, the more we believe bringing back Kelly Olynyk could be a solid move for the team to consider.

Now yes, we’re well aware of the fact that he’s been sidelined since early November with an MCL sprain and will continue to be for the next few weeks, but if his play during the second half of last season and the early stages of this season are any indicators, once he returns he’d be a real blessing to have in the team’s frontcourt.

In 23.5 minutes a night this year, the big man was boasting per-game averages of 12.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, 2.3 assists, 1.4 steals, and just shy of a block on 46 percent shooting from the floor and 34 percent shooting from deep prior to injury.

Standing at 6-11, Olynyk would be a player Ime Udoka could have logging minutes at both the four and the five in a reserve role while also simply helping to improve the team’s second-unit scoring punch and middle of the pack floor-spacing efficiency (rank 15th in the league at a 33.9 percent shooting clip) along the way.
