Boston Celtics takeaway No. 3)  The Cs find yet another way to collapse

The Boston Celtics have struggled all season to remain consistent and Friday night’s loss is a perfect example of exactly that.

First, they found themselves down by as many as 24 points, then take a seven-point lead late in the contest, before ultimately losing in the end by eight points.

It happens too often where the Celtics fall asleep on offense and end up making poor decisions that cost them leads. It is also crystal clear that they are not good enough to always have to fight their way back into games.

It is a great thing when any team can fight their way back from big deficits to make games competitive but the Boston Celtics seem to always need to do just this. More often than not, those games will end in losses and when the Cs do manage to fight back and take the lead, they need to learn to hold it.

Letting up a 15-0 run in the final minutes is inexcusable. The Spurs didn’t even blitz the Celtics, they went one possession at a time and let Dejounte Murray — a true favorite trade target of ours — do his thing.

Maybe it’s on the coaching, maybe it’s on the players, maybe a little bit of both. One thing that is for certain is that something needs to change or else the Boston Celtics will never get over the hump.
