Boston Celtics: 2 potential Spurs targets Cs should monitor
By Mark Nilon
Boston Celtics target No. 2) Dejounte Murray
Dejounte Murray currently finds himself in the midst of his best season as a pro, putting up stellar all-around averages of 18.4 points, 8.2 assists, 8.2 rebounds, and 2.1 steals per game.
Unfortunately, however, his high-end play has been wasted thus far, as San Antonio finds itself down near the bottom of the Western Conference standings with a measly record of 4-13.
While his excellence may be going unnoticed and being essentially wasted with the Spurs, we believe it could prove to go a long way with the Boston Celtics, which is why we’re astoundingly high on the idea of seeing the front office looking into the availability of the sixth-year pro.
Based on the trade rumors from earlier in the year stating that the C’s front office was interested in potentially dealing for Ben Simmons, we at the Houdini can only infer that Stevens would be open to bringing on a point guard who can provide more size, sound distribution skills, and defensive intensity to the backcourt.
Murray would bring all of these traits while coming at a presumably lower price than the Sixers’ star.
A player who seemingly provides a bit of everything when on the hardwood, a team that could use a bit of everything such as the Boston Celtics should be interested in monitoring a talent such as Dejounte Murray.
