Boston Celtics target No. 1) Bryn Forbes

The Boston Celtics may have several top-notch scoring threats within their arsenal such as Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Dennis Schroder, but something they seem to be lacking is a player who can seamlessly and consistently knock-down open shots, specifically those coming from beyond the arc in catch-and-shoot scenarios.

Because of this, many believe the front office should be scouring the trade market to snag a highly-capable off-ball sharpshooter and wing Bryn Forbes is someone that has oft been linked to the franchise as a possible trade target.

Currently in his sixth season in the association, the two guard finds himself struggling to come across ample minutes within San Antonio’s rotation, as he’s only logging 12.8 per game as of this writing.

However, despite this, the 28-year-old has managed to stay rather consistent in regard to his on-court production, boasting 16.3 points per 75 possessions on 46 percent shooting from the floor and 43 percent shooting from deep.

From a skill-set perspective, Forbes would be a quality add to Boston’s squad, especially considering his expertise in catch-and-shoot scenarios where he’s shooting at a 48 percent clip from the field and a 47 percent clip from beyond the arc.

Now yes, while we did recently state that the Cs should pass on the idea of trading for the wing, our main reasoning for why was due to the fact that we believe the team should strive to make larger moves.

However, should they start firing on all cylinders (especially once Brown returns to the lineup fully healthy), perhaps a smaller deal such as one for Forbes could turn out to be a quality move after all.
