Boston Celtics preseason cut Ryan Arcidiacono takes Utah’s final two-way slot

The Utah Jazz recently parted ways with Justin James to open up their final two-way roster spot. We’re hoping that Ryan Arcidiacono could find a new home after a scoreless NBA preseason in 22 minutes so far.

Given that the final preseason exhibition will be a dress rehearsal for the Cs–minus Marcus Smart who is being disciplined for not showing leadership in missing the team flight to Orlando for Wednesday’s Magic matchup–Arcidiacono might not find time to show what he is capable of.

No matter. He’s shown the ability to shoot the 3-ball at an efficient clip (37% through his first four seasons) and would be a snug fit for Utah head coach Quinn Snyder’s offensive system that has seen Joe Ingles, Royce O’Neal, and Bojan Bogdanovic feast on the open looks created by Donovan Mitchell’s orbit on offense.

Villanova Wildcat and 2016 March Madness winner Arcidiacono is more of a win-now move than any other Jazz player vying for that spot, and would be a nice complement to prospective fellow NCAA Champion point guard Jared Butler, who just ripped down the nets with Baylor.
