Boston Celtics preseason cut Theo Pinson signs with the other LA team

This time around, it’s the Los Angeles Clippers that scoops up a current Celtic who may not have a spot on the 2021-22 roster.

Theo Pinson creates his own offense, something he showed Cs fans late in the fourth quarter in the nail-biting loss to Orlando, and can help out a Clippers roster that is down on their luck at the moment injury-wise.

Paul George, Reggie Jackson, and Terrence Mann can only take the team so far offensively with floor-spacers like Marcus Morris and Serge Ibaka on the sideline. This all as Kawhi Leonard recovers from an ACL injury that occurred in the 2021 postseason.

Pinson is at the point of taking a partial guarantee to earn his way onto a roster, and the Clippers may just be willing to part with Jay Scrubb to open up a roster spot.

The UNC product has won at the collegiate level and was a pivotal part of the feel-good 2018-19 Brooklyn Nets bench mob. In Los Angeles, he can similarly help spur positive momentum as they recover from injury woes.
