Ime Udoka’s philosophy: You battle on the court, I’ll battle the refs’ BS

Ime Udoka essentially told* the world that if you want to see whining about foul calls, you’ll need a greyhound to Brooklyn or a flight to LAX to see it. It won’t be in Boston.

*I may have inferred a bit.

Jayson Tatum need not use James Harden or LeBron James to model his foul-drawing tendencies or post-call behaviors after. Jaylen Brown the same.

You have to love this culture-setting tone:

This is a call for accountability on the players not to take away the viewing experience of the game. It’s off-putting to see someone unhappy with everything called by the refs. It makes you question what you’re seeing.

Simply put, it’s not what many fans want to see to escape from the everyday grind of life. And Udoka’s making sure you don’t when you tune into a Boston Celtics game.

When you don’t get conditioned to blame the ref, you may find yourself blaming your teammates less. Perhaps that makes one look inward. From there, perhaps, organic internal improvement?

What a concept!

Udoka is setting up the Cs for something big here in 2021-22 and beyond. At least that’s how it appears from where we’re standing.

Next. 3 Cs that could be dealt before preseason's end. dark
