Surprise Boston Celtics Kemba Walker trading partner #1: Los Angeles Lakers

Thinking about helping LeBron James potentially pass the Cs in championships won is a thought no fan ever wants to have in their head. It’s doubtful that Kemba Walker could be that missing piece for the Cs at this point in his career, though, so perhaps a salary dump conversation should be had.

In fact, Lake Show Life’s Jason Reed had it at his Laker hive.

After being bounced from the first round of the postseason, both the Lakers and Celtics are in desperation mode…to varying degrees. Both franchises have the ol’ irregular and shortened season excuse, though neither fanbase wants to hear it at this point.

The difference, though, is the age of the two teams’ top stars. James is going to be 37-years-old by the time the next NBA Finals are played, while Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum are both under the age of 26.

This is to say: the Lakers are in borderline full-on desperation mode. A move for Walker–mainly to alleviate the playmaking duties for the “king”–is the kind of move L.A. could spin as a chess move for the missing third star.

If the Cs could get Kyle Kuzma and Dennis Schroder in a sign-and-trade, due to Schroder’s free-agent status–this could end up being a deal the Cs actually get draft capital back on.
