Boston Celtics free-agent target #2: Tony Snell

As much as people joke about Tony Snell because of that viral photo of one of his stat-lines, he quietly put up historic numbers this past year with Atlanta.

He shot 51.5 percent from the field, 56.9 percent from deep, and 100 percent from the free-throw line. It marked the first-ever 50-50-100 season in NBA history.

Sure, the volume of his shooting was small, but his efficiency remains insanely impressive. In the last five years, Snell’s 3-point percentage has not dipped below 39.7 percent. On top of that, he played at least 17.6 minutes in each of those seasons.

At 6-6, he split his time between the two and the three this season with the Hawks.

The underappreciated aspect of Snell, however, is his 7-0 wingspan. With elite length, Snell is able to hold his own against anyone on the perimeter. He’s not an elite defender by any means but is far from a net negative on that end of the floor.

With Fournier in the mix, Snell would likely spend most of his time as the backup small forward for the Cs. With Boston continuously looking to put more consistent shooting around Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, a player as efficient as the veteran should not be overlooked.
