Boston Celtics’ Kemba Walker upgrade: Damian Lillard

The Lillard agenda has begun full force here at Hardwood Houdini, because why would we not want the best point guard in the league wearing green and white moving forward? In fact, Lillard has also been linked to the Cs by 2008 NBA Champion center Kendrick Perkins:

Lillard himself may believe it’s time as well. Following the Trail Blazers’ season-ending loss to the Denver Nuggets, Lillard posted a cryptic Instagram post with lyrics from Nipsey Hussle (RIP) talking about how long he should stay dedicated.

Hard not to read between the lines there, especially with head coach Terry Stots being dismissed yesterday.

Lillard is more available than he has ever been, and new President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens may be able to pry him away if he plays his cards right.

What might that include? Well, Lillard does have interest in playing for Jason Kidd–a Celtics head coaching candidate–so perhaps bringing him on board could help.

Then again, the Blazers star may have the option of forcing his way to his next destination, so let’s hope Jayson Tatum’s stellar play is what Lillard needed to see to want to hop on board the Beantown basketball express.
