Former Boston Celtics player No. 2) Kelly Olynyk

Did somebody say that the Boston Celtics desperately need bench shooting and scoring?

Well, welcome back Kelly Olynyk!

After the acquisition of Al Horford, Olynyk became a key bench piece for the Celtics. He’s remained that key bench piece after going to Miami.

This season, Olynyk has shown that he’s still a capable starter even after being traded to the Houston Rockets.

Olynyk’s ability to be a stretch four and five when needed while also bringing that defensive intensity would fit right into Brad Stevens’ lineup once again. The current rotation is in desperate need of quality bigs, as players such as Grant Williams and Semi Ojeleye continue to see significant minutes.

The Olynyk-Boston reunion may be closer to coming to fruition than people think. He’s still been playing at a rotational level and will find his way onto someone’s roster.

Why shouldn’t the Boston Celtics give him a shot?

He knows some of the players, he knows the coach and the systems, he knows the fans — this is the perfect match.

He adds another shooter to the floor and another piece that can go off for 30 points any given night if he has the opportunity. The Cs need more consistent offense off the bench and that’s exactly what Olynyk provides.

Seeing Kelly in the “Kelly” green again would be a sight for sore eyes and would be a resounding success on the court and with the Boston crowds.
