Former Boston Celtics player No. 1) Jeff Green

Jeff Green has been around the league a time or two.

Starting his career with the Seattle Supersonics, who moved to Oklahoma City and became the Thunder a year after he was drafted, he then found himself in Boston about halfway through the 2010 season.

Green played for the Cs for 222 games between 2010 and 2015 before he was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies. In his time in Beantown, Green averaged about 14.3 points, four rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game.

Fans and players alike had high expectations of him as he was thrust into the starting role in the frontcourt following the Kevin Garnett trade.

He did not disappoint.

After his time in Boston, Green bounced around the league to the Memphis Grizzlies, Los Angeles Clippers, Orlando Magic, Cleveland Cavaliers, Washington Wizards, Utah Jazz, Houston Rockets and now to the Brooklyn Nets.

Nowadays, he’s used as a stretch four or small ball stretch five.

At 34-years-old, he still looks like he’s got a lot left in the tank, especially if he’s going to continue to be a catch and shoot big. If his deep ball doesn’t fall off a cliff, we could see Green in the NBA for several more years.

His veteran leadership and shooting ability is exactly what this Boston Celtics team needs.

If he doesn’t end up re-signing with the Nets, it’s written in the stars for a Celtics return. With the rumors that are flying around, that No. 8 jersey might be waiting for him upon arrival.

Plus, seeing Green back in the green and white would simply just feel right.
