Boston Celtics-Jabari Parker side effect #3: C’s FA attempt fails

In a chaotic season such as 2020-21, there are truly no guarantees about anything. All the hoping and praying for the former #2 pick’s somewhat tragic tale to lead to a comeback story for the ages may lead to nothing.

Things were not peachy in Sacramento for Parker, who became a bit player this season. If being stuck in California’s capital wasn’t the reason for his decline–and his ACL tear and its side effects were actually the culprit–then Ainge could be back to the drawing board in the offseason.

If his deal were a 10-day, there would be more flexibility on the Boston Celtics GM’s part to right the potential roster wrong if the Parker fit is poor.

Instead, Shams Charania reported that the Cs are inking him to a two-year deal:

The possibility that this doesn’t pan out exists just as the other two aforementioned potential side effects do. Let’s hope Brad Stevens can get the most out of the former lottery pick.

Just don’t be too crushed if it doesn’t unfold that way.
