4. Miami Heat

Miami has Bam Adebayo entrenched as the starting center in South Beach, but behind him, there is plenty of inexperienced youth that the Heat may not feel 100% secure about in a playoff series…if they can even make it there in 2020-21.

Currently, Precious Achiuwa is the second pivot on the depth chart for Miami. While Achiuwa has played admirably (his per-36 minutes’ stats extrapolate to 15 points, 10 rebounds, 1.5 assists, a block, and a steal per contest), the Heat have been unable to replicate last season’s success, where they clinched the Eastern Conference Championship from the #4 seed.

Currently a game and a half out of the playoff picture, getting an offensive boost from Cousins could be the sparkplug his game needs, but he wouldn’t be able to find the floor late in games with Adebayo so ingrained as the team’s premier big.

3. Toronto Raptors

Toronto is another team that has fallen from grace in 2020-21, but they have been able to overcome their early-season struggles to actually claw above the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference standings.

Still, 16-15 is certainly not where Toronto wants to be after profiling as a top-two team in the east the last two seasons. The 2019 NBA Champions could definitely use another big body in a shallow depth chart headed by Alex Len and Aron Baynes.

Adding another playmaker to a lineup that already includes Kyle Lowry and Fred VanVleet would create even more open looks for the likes of O.G. Anonouby and Pascal Siakam.

Cousins in the North (or in the South this season in Tampa Bay) is a better-than-decent fit.
