Boston Celtics player No. 3) Robert Williams III

We’re not holding anything back here, folks — of all the players found on this list, Robert Williams III is the one we feel most strongly about in regard to deserving a starting role.

Seemingly since the Boston Celtics drafted the big man back in 2018, fans have been singing the man’s praise, constantly citing the potential he possesses based on his combination of length, defensive tenacity, and athleticism.

Now, fully healthy, Williams is showing the C’s faithful what he could be for the franchise.

In just 16 minutes per game, the 23-year-old is averaging 6.6 points, 6.9 boards, 1.1 steals, and 1.6 blocks per game on a stellar 75 percent shooting from the floor.

Though time has been hard to come by, when logging about 20 minutes per game this season, the center is finding himself posting averages of 9.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 2.7 blocks per game on 68 percent shooting from the floor.

Based off the numbers alone, three of the team’s best lineups this season have all included Robert Williams playing the pivot.

It’s evident that the combination of Theis and Thompson down low is not working. Should Brad Stevens go the Houdini’s preferred four out, one in scheme, a guy like Timelord could prove to be the ideal big man.

Not only do we believe that Robert Williams III deserves an increased role in the rotation moving forward, but we think he’s deserving of consideration for a starting gig as well.
