Jeremy Lin

I have been able to get myself excited about the prospect of adding Jeremy Lin to the roster in the past, but in all reality, he isn’t a significant step up from what Payton Pritchard would be able to contribute.

Isaiah Thomas is a gamble in the sense that injuries are the only thing holding the team back from getting a legitimate sixth man…if Thomas is to be believed. Assuming he is being truthful, the Celtics could be getting the guy they traded for five years ago to back up Kemba Walker when he returns and potentially start for him until then.

Lin’s ceiling is nowhere close to that. Pritchard should not cede a single minute to a player like Lin.

Andre Roberson

Andre Roberson is another player who I am having second thoughts about adding to this current Cs roster. With Aaron Nesmith now in tow, any minutes potentially given up by Nesmith to Roberson sounds like a silly–and quite honestly un-Brad Stevens-like–fantasy.

Semi Ojeleye has been given plenty of opportunities to thrive after being drafted by the franchise, and Guerschon Yabusele was somehow able to be apart of the Boston Celtics rotation for two consecutive years of the team being the top seed in the east.

Now isn’t the time Stevens starts to give non-shooters like Roberson minutes ahead of a potential rotational pillar in Nesmith.

Jamal Crawford

After he was unable to suit up much for the Brooklyn Nets in the Lake Buena Vista bubble from Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports complex, Jamal Crawford went from intriguing second unit scoring serum to red flag-filled injury risk.

There’s no doubt the man could probably still fill up the rock better than most in the league, but there’s no reason for the team to gamble on someone who might just have to be dropped for season-ending injuries eventually anyway.
