3-teamer with Indiana

The first deal would include popular Hayward suitor Indiana waiving the white flag and shifting gears from trying to trade for him to facilitating a trade for him. Instead of having Hayward, Indy goes young with OG Anunoby, Romeo Langford, Carsen Edwards, and a pair of 2020 first-round picks.

In addition to taking on Hayward’s final year, Toronto would acquire Daniel Theis and Vincent Poirier to fill out their frontcourt given the potential free agency exodus of their big men. Boston would replace Theis with Myles Turner and would also add Doug McDermott and Norm Powell for the second unit.

Why the Boston Celtics do it

Boston would get the second-best player in the deal, but Turner is a better fit for the offense. Not to mention, he recently posted a workout video alongside Grant Williams and Tacko Fall. It looks like Turner could very well find his way to Beantown.

Being joined by Doug McDermott and Norm Powell adds two capable 3-and-D weapons to a bench that needs an upgrade from having Semi Ojeleye and rookies serve in that role.

Why the Toronto Raptors do it

Hayward is the perfect addition to the Raptors lineup in that he is pliable. Kyle Lowry, Paschal Siakam, and Fred VanVleet won’t need to mold their games around Hayward, but vice versa.

Daniel Theis and Vincent Poirier would be immediate big man fill-ins for a Raptors roster that could be set to lose three different players from the 2019 title team in free agency.

Why the Indiana Pacers do it

OG Anunoby had a major season in the six, but he is among the most valuable assets on the team in a trade. Since it is clear Toronto is not good enough to contend with the roster as it stands, it only makes sense to cash in a young asset (with an impending extension) on a win-now piece.

Romeo Langford, Carsen Edwards, and two first-round draft picks round out the offer, and among those four pieces, one of them should 100% keeper.
