Avery Bradley

Boston Celtics fans hoping for a former C reuniting with the green and white probably don’t think much about the idea of Avery Bradley returning. Technically, he has a sweet gig on the Los Angeles Lakers as the point guard in a LeBron James-led offense.

Remember, though, during this series that Bradley chose not to join his teammates down in the Lake Buena Vista bubble from Walt Disney World’s Wide World of Sports campus, opting out due to concerns about COVID-19.

That was a decision driven by family and safety, but one that could still have profound side effects on the offseason plan of the potential NBA Champion Los Angeles Lakers. In the end, if the Lakers win their #17th banner–one that would tie him with the Celtics–Bradley will have not been apart of the bubble experience that bonded the team.

Any sort of messy scenario like that could open the door for him to opt-out of his second-year player option with Los Angeles and test free agency. A soon-to-be 30-year-old Bradley could help a contender’s bench, and if Los Angeles proves they didn’t need him in this NBA Finals, Bradley has a potential destination with his former home in Beantown.
