Takeaway No. 1) Goran Dragic cannot be taken lightly

This takeaway is most certainly not a slight at Goran Dragic; after all, he is a former All-Star for heaven’s sake. That said, over the past several years, be it due to injuries or aging we have seen the point guard become less of a focal point within Miami’s rotation and more so as a complementary player.

In 2019-20, the opposing team’s focus has primarily been on the likes of All-Stars Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, leaving a player like Dragić roaming free to capitalize on those who have turned a blind eye.

So far in this series, the 33-year-old has made the Boston Celtics pay for daring him to take over. Averaging 36 minutes a night, Dragić is putting up 27 points, and 4.5 assists on 46 percent shooting from deep.

During the Heat’s impressive postseason run, the Slovenian native has proven to be one of his team’s most consistent and effective contributors, as they now boast an impressive record of 11-1 through 12 games played.

Moving forward in this series, the Cs cannot treat him like just any old role player.
