Two games into this year’s Eastern Conference Finals the Boston Celtics find themselves in an 0-2 hole with far more questions than answers.
In a game that was unequivocally a “must-win”, the Boston Celtics once again managed to squandered a hot start and, in turn, find themselves down 0-2 in this best-of-seven Eastern Conference Finals.
Despite impressive performances from Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and finally Kemba Walker, this Miami Heat team proved to be a resilient bunch that refuses to relent. Combined, this trio managed to put up a combined 65 of the C’s 101 points (21, 21, and 23 respectively), while Walker finally broke his cold shooting streak as he shot 9-19 from the field tonight.
Even still, their performances were inevitably wasted as Miami won the game boasting a five-point advantage at the end of regulation (106).
Like virtually all of their losses throughout the postseason, Thursday’s exhibition could have easily been Boston’s first win had a few more things gone their way. Unfortunately, we are forced to live in this reality where the shamrocks find themselves down two games to none with far more questions than answers as they begin prepping for Saturday’s game three.
Though this series is still one that can realistically be had, it’ll take a much better performance than the one they put forth in game two to get the job done against this unbelievably driven Heat team.
