Boston Celtic we hope gets extended minutes No. 1) Romeo Langford

First up we have the lone lottery pick himself, Romeo Langford.

To say the wing had an up and down rookie campaign would be… well, it would be about right. Splitting time between the Boston Celtics’ main roster and their G-League affiliate, the Maine Red Claws, and being hobbled by injuries to start the year Langford never really was able to garner the ample experience necessary for him to become a guaranteed contributor for this championship squad come the postseason.

With this in mind, today’s game against the Washington Wizards could be his last opportunity to log meaningful minutes in 2019-20. Brad Stevens should not let this opportunity for his young talent.

Through 31 games played in the NBA, the 20-year-old finds himself averaging 2.4 points and 1.2 rebounds on 35 percent shooting from the field in just 11 minutes a night. His G-League stats, however, are a bit more promising, as he was able to receive more playing time and, in turn, put up more impressive numbers of 10.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game on 43 percent shooting from the floor.

So far in the bubble, though only averaging a mere 10.1 minutes in the four games he’s played, Langford has managed to impress, particularly on the defensive side of the ball and, thus, has all Boston Celtics fans clamoring for more before the climax of his first season.

Seeing the rook play ample minutes today would be a great thing to witness and, frankly, a great thing for his experience.
