Players for Celtics to keep tabs on in NBA bubble: Harry Giles

Jayson Tatum‘s Duke teammate and current Sacramento Kings big man Harry Giles has always been held back by injury woes. He certainly looked healthy against the Orlando Magic. The bouncy big man dropped 23 points and grabbed eight rebounds on 9-of-11 shooting.

He has always been an intriguing buy-low candidate for the C’s, but perhaps the price could be raised and he could still be seen as a viable frontcourt option in Beantown if he could reasonably be acquired.

Players for Celtics to keep tabs on in NBA bubble: Jarrett Allen

A player who is seemingly playing for the benefit of other team’s scouting is Jarrett Allen of the Brooklyn Nets. He is a player who likely can’t usurp incumbent starter DeAndre Jordan due to politics who deserves to start somewhere.

Good thing he showed out against the Washington Wizards, scoring 22 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. The Boston Celtics are a team that can offer him the chance to start and could make sense as an option if they can parlay their draft picks to a third team in a deal due to the Nets’ immediate roster needs to contend.

Players for Celtics to keep tabs on in NBA bubble: Jusuf Nurkic

Jusuf Nurkic is completely reviving his value as an asset for the Portland Trailblazers. After missing the last 17 months due to a left leg injury, Nurkic burst back onto the NBA radar when he went for 18 points, nine rebounds and five assists in his first game back in 33 minutes of play.

Again, if Portland fails to qualify for the playoffs and undergoes a rebuild, Nurkic’s $12 million salary makes it easy to match contracts to bring in a high-level stud on what could be a bargain deal if he continues at such a torrid pace.
