The Golden State Warriors offer an intriguing fit for Carsen Edwards due to their style of play as well as the habits he’d be able to glean from their top two stars in the Splash Brothers. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson have been able to take over games with their shooting for the better part of the last decade.

That is probably the best case scenario for Edwards as a player, due to his height and distributing deficiencies. Edwards has never been known to be much of a passer, topping out at under four assists in 35 minutes his final season in college.

Needless to say, that aspect of the game has only grown more challenging against professional competition. He had a 1:1 assist/turnover ration in both the NBA and the G-League this past season.

On the contrary, the Warriors’ starting point guard for a large majority of the season–Ky Bowman–is a more solid distributor. After going undrafted in the 2019 NBA Draft out of Boston College, Bowman stuck on with Golden State this past season after initially signing a two-way contract.

His 2.9:1.6 turnover/ratio came as he was thrust into the starting lineup for a franchise that had made the last five finals but were failing in their first season playing at the Chase Center in San Francisco.

Bowman fits the backup point guard more than Edwards, who seems like he could be unleashed in Steve Kerr’s historic offense that should return to normal with the returns of Curry and Thompson.
