Brad Wanamaker

If the Boston Celtics season ends, you figure Danny Ainge will want to keep as many things about the roster the same after undergoing massive roster shifts for two of the past three summers. Not many teams have had three franchise point guards in the span of four years like the C’s.

Our first entrant isn’t a franchise point guard. Instead, he is a career journeyman who just arrived in the NBA at the age of 29. Wanamaker has had an up and down season, and his value to the team has at times been purely managing the rookie point guards in Carsen Edwards and Tremont Waters.

Other times, he has provided a steady hand for Brad Stevens. HH’s own Ian Raff put his value into perspective:

"Brad Wanamaker has earned his spot within this Boston Celtics rotation. Even though it is early in the season, if he continues his consistent play, Beantown should consider inking the 30-year-old sophomore guard to a longer deal as he has brought more to the table than expected, especially from an efficiency standpoint."

If consistency is a virtue Ainge continues to desire with this roster, Wanamaker could be the safe backup point guard option heading into next season–if this one is already over.
