Find consistency from beyond the arc

As of late, the Boston Celtics have improved upon their perimeter game, upping their overall team shooting percentage to 36.6 percent from deep (11th best in the NBA). With the way the modern NBA is played, teams often times find themselves living and dying by the 3.

Though the C’s have proven more than capable of scoring from seemingly any area on the court, having a consistent shooting rate of conversion from beyond the arc would only help aid in their quest for a season-series sweep.

For February, the Celtics were scorch-earth from downtown, shooting an impressive 40 percent from that range. During this month, the team accumulated a record of 9-3 and have headed into March as one of the hottest teams in the association.

On the season, the Boston Celtics have managed to shoot a solid 39 percent from downtown through their 41 victories. However, averaged out through their 19 losses, the team is shooting an uninspiring 31 percent from long range.

It may seem simple, but it’s oh so important: finding quality looks from deep will certainly help guide the C’s to victory number 43. We know how successful they can be when shooting at the rim — especially with Tristan Thompson and Andre Drummond being questionable to play in tonight’s outing.

A simple key for Boston is to find some consistency when shooting from beyond the arc. This should come with quality play calling by Brad Stevens and ball movement from the players.
