Anthony Tolliver

A far more intriguing fit than Allen Crabbe, Anthony Tolliver is a wing/big hybrid that has knocked down the long-ball for much of his 11-year career. As a journeyman who has been employed by almost one third of the entire association, signing up to play on a new team for a few months would be very on-brand for the veteran.

That said, is now the time for the Boston Celtics to be tinkering with their big-man rotation with the playoffs so soon? Tolliver occupies a similar role to that of Semi Ojeleye and Grant Williams, but at 34 years old, doesn’t figure to fit into any long-term plans for the C’s or anyone else for that matter.

Of course, a Tolliver signing would be for the immediate gains. While he has had an abysmal second stint with the Sacramento Kings, putting up shooting splits of 17 percent from the field and 13 percent from the 3-point line, like Crabbe, he was a 37 percent shooter from downtown last season with the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Like Crabbe, though, it would take supplanting a young gun and stealing minutes away from guys that have earned it on this 41-18 Celtics team.

Regarding any buyout market candidates…it’s gonna be a no from me, dog.
