13. Tremont Waters

Unfortunately for Carsen Edwards, he is being outplayed by a man of similar stature from the same 2019 Boston Celtics draft class: Tremont Waters. The LSU product has less exposure to the pro team, but he has shown flashes of brilliance during regular season play.

Waters is crushing it right now in the G-League, averaging 20 points, eight assists and three rebounds. As a diminutive floor general sharing the floor with the massive Fall, it has been a promising year for a rookie who may make Edwards expandable.

12. Romeo Langford

Where art thou, Romeo? That has been the pressing question for much of the season for rookie Romeo Langford. Having played just 12 games this season, it has been a far from ideal start to the NBA life for the Indiana product.

Langford has had ailments all over his body, but in the limited run he has had, he has shown good burst to the rim and a deft touch from the mid-range. His 3-point shooting is a work in progress at just 22%, but in time he should be able to etch out a more solid role in the rotation.

11. Grant Williams

Grant Williams has been the team’s most consistent rookie out of the entire 2019 Boston Celtics rookie class, but that hasn’t been the hardest thing to do given Langford’s injury woes, Edwards’ shooting woes and the fact that Waters and Fall have spent most of their time with the Maine Red Claws.

Williams was famously 0-25 on 3-point attempts before finally making one on his 26th attempt, but he has made 11 of his last 28 attempts. While spacing the floor doesn’t seem to be his strong suit, providing physical defense and being a net positive on that side of the ball has helped him rise above his rookie peer…though not by much.

10. Semi Ojeleye

Semi Ojeleye has been the go-to starter for the Boston Celtics when Gordon Hayward, Jaylen Brown or Marcus Smart has had to miss time. Last year in the playoffs he served as a star-specialist, checking Giannis Antetokounmpo for their series against the Bucks.

This season he has played a similar role in a recent contest against the Los Angeles Lakers as well as the C’s two match-ups with Milwaukee. His value as a role player is quite clear, though it seems his ceiling in the league (at least on this Celtics team) is just a role player.
