Chris Bosh

Bosh has recently reached an agreement with the Miami Heat that allows him to become a free agent. Almost as soon as this news broke Celtics fans have been asking if he would be a good fit on the team. If he can return to his previous play the answer is yes.

Before the blood clot issue that forced him out of basketball Bosh was averaging 19.1 points per game, 7.4 rebounds per game, and 2.4 assists per game. Also, he was shooting nearly 37% from 3 point land which fits in perfectly with Boston’s pace and space strategy. At 33 years of age and nearly a year away from basketball activities Bosh will likely not call for a large contract allowing the Celtics to possibly add more pieces.

As much as I love this possible grouping I’m not sure if it’s plausible. For one, he’s blood clots are still an issue. If you sign Bosh you could literally be putting his life at risk. Would you be able to live with yourself knowing you possibly caused further health problems to someone for a silly sport.

Another reason I doubt this will materialize is because if Bosh is to return to the NBA I would assume he would want to join a championship team. Last time I checked he was pretty good friends with someone in Cleveland who’s made 7 straight NBA Finals.
