NBA Daily Links: Wednesday, January 8, 2014

Happy Hump Day, NBA fans!

Man, this week cannot go by fast enough.  It’s not even like it has been a tough week so far, so I am not quite certain as to why I want it to end so quickly.  I’m sure the frigid temperatures don’t help, but whatever it is about this week, I want it over and done with!

And the Boston Celtics’ recent play isn’t making the week any easier to endure,

Speaking of the Cs, I’m on tap to cover their game tonight against Doc Rivers’ new squad in LA, so keep checking back in to the site for my pre- and post-game coverage, and don’t forget to follow me on Twitter at both @HoudiniCeltics and @theamazingMrS.

Now: time for the links!

There was a healthy number of games in the NBA last – 12, to be exact.  Get your knowledge here.  [NBA.com]

Follow that up with your Morning Shootaround, which focuses on the Chicago Bulls and the likelihood of other players on that roster being traded now that Luol Deng has been traded to Cleveland.  [NBA]

And here’s your Daily Dime, which opens with a look at a player I would love to see the Celtics try to acquire, Anthony Davis.  [ESPN]

Unless you’ve been sent there to rehab, getting assigned to the NBA D-League is, let’s face it, a demotion.  Check out how Shabazz Muhammad is handling his stint in the D.  [Yahoo! Sports]  And speaking of the D-League, check back in with me later as I cover MarShon Brooks’ stint with the Maine Red Claws.

The pick-and-roll has been around forever, but check out how these four teams are giving the tried-and-true a new look. [Sports Illustrated]

Let’s get the odds for the someone not named LeBron winning the MVP this season.  [Bleacher Report]

And your Boston Celtics link of the day: Gerald Wallace had some choice words for his teammates following their latest loss last night.  [b/r]   Maybe the Celtics are not out of the Walker/Wiggins/Randle sweepstakes, after all!
