Tracy McGrady Headed To Sac Town For Kevin Martin (Update)

It is currently 1:32 AM EST and NBA general managers are still hard at work. These are the times you lose sleep, or get no sleep at all, trying to improve your team. As I was about to shut down the laptop and head to bed (I have a 9:30 AM exam by the way) I saw a tweet come across my screen that said T-Mac heading to the Kings for Kevin Martin. That tweet was from Adrian Wojnarowski from Yahoo Sports, he later posted the details.

Via Adrian Wojnarowski:

The Sacramento Kings are in advanced talks with the Houston Rockets on a trade that will swap Kevin Martin(notes) for Tracy McGrady(notes), league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

Along with Martin, the Kings will send Sergio Rodridguez, Hilton Armstrong(notes) and Kenny Thomas(notes) to the Rockets. Joey Dorsey(notes) and Carl Landry(notes) will go to the Kings.

This isn’t quite as interesting as would be if McGrady was headed to the “Big Apple” but it is still a blockbuster deal. Sacramento will receive an all-star caliber player to play alongside young and gifted athletes like Tryeke Evans. On the other side of the spectrum the Rockets also make out from this trade. They receive a great young guard who can put up numbers alongside Aaron Brooks and the rest of the Rockets lineup. This could be exactly what they need to push them into one of the final playoff spots in the Western Conference.

Okay now it’s time to rest up and get ready for another full day of crazy rumors and trades going down in the NBA. We here at Hardwood Houdini will try to keep you posted on not only deals going down with the Celtics, but also big deals going down league wide.
