Jordan Mickey

In June of 2015, Steph Curry was coming off his first title and league MVP by changing the game of basketball as we know it by hyperfocusing on the three-point shot. Spacing and advanced analytics were quickly becoming the rage. Inefficiency and clunky bigs were slowly being phased out, but someone hadn't quite told Danny Ainge yet.

With the No. 33 pick in the aforementioned year's draft, the Celtics selected power forward Jordan Mickey. He had pogo-stick-esque hops but was undersized and had virtually no offensive ability. A decade before, he could've been a defensive Stallworth as a rim-running four. By the time he entered the league, that position was practically extinct.

Mickey only played for 41 games during his tenure in Boston, often having extended spells with the then-Maine Red Claws. He failed to crack the rotation, usually only getting run during garbage minutes. Before the start of the 2017 season, the Celtics waived Mickey. He was out of the league just a year later.
