Key question for Boston Celtics for Game 3 and beyond: Do Cs have depth to survive Kristaps Porzingis's injury?
Kristaps Porzingis day-to-day with calf injury for the Boston Celtics
The reality is Kristaps Porzingis will do everything within his power to play tomorrow, but it will ultimately come down to whether or not the Boston Celtics' medical staff feel he can do so without risking further injury.
Cs fans can still hold out hope as the center is willing to "die out there" for an NBA championship.
The green team has the depth to withstand KP missing a game or two and still be able to compete and possibly win against the Mavs. Al Horford has looked 38 years young these playoffs and guys like Luke Kornet, Neemias Queta, and Xavier Tillman were brought in for this purpose. They are injury reserves capable of providing timely contributions to the Cs.
The Boston Celtics are missing arguably their third-best player when fully healthy if this injury puts him back on the shelf. The big man is averaging 2.5 blocks to anchor one of the best defenses in the NBA and absolutely dominating in the mismatches at seven-foot-three.
The Celtics are 31-5 without Porzingis on the season and playoffs. There is no need to rush him back in this instance. The Cs also won 119-110 against the Mavs without the Unicorn earlier this year, but this game was also prior to Dallas acquiring PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford.
