Celtics vs. Knicks Key Players to Watch
Celtics
Jayson Tatum: Tatum continues to elevate his game, averaging 27 points per game and eight rebounds for the best team in the NBA. The Celtics have the best rating in the NBA and Tatum is at the center of it all. Can he shine at MSG on Saturday night?
Knicks
Jalen Brunson: Brunson has upped his game to another level this season, yet again. The Knicks All-Star point guard is putting up career numbers, averaging 27 points per game and six assists while shooting 40% from beyond the arc. However, the Celtics have an array of defenders to slow him down, will Brunson carry the banged up Knicks yet again?
Celtics vs. Knicks Prediction and Pick
The Celtics have handled the Knicks all season, winning all three matchups, but the first meeting at MSG was the closest, with the C's winning by only four back on October 25th.
However, this current form of the Knicks is far from its best, over reliant on Brunson's creation as the team is down key creators like Julius Randle and OG Anunoby.
The Knicks are starting to slow down after a hot start to the season, 20th in net rating since the calendar flipped to February. While the team got the All-Star break, the group is still banged up. Over the last eight games spanning this month, the team has a negative net rating (-3.7, per NBA.com).
While the Knicks came out of the All-Star Break and took care of a banged up Sixers team, I believe the Celtics can take advantage of a weakend team and cover the modest spread.
