The red-hot Boston Celtics return to TD Garden for the first time since the All-Star break riding an eight-game winning streak. Meanwhile, Philadelphia is trying to stay afloat with its MVP big man sidelined.

The 76ers are just 4-7 in February are have dropped to No. 5 in the Eastern Conference but have three teams (Miami, Indiana and Orlando) within striking distance.

Boston is a big favorite (-12) to extend its winning streak on Tuesday night as they try to add to its commanding league for the No. 1 seed in the east. Here are some props to consider in the fourth matchup this season between the two rivals.

Best NBA prop bets today for Sixers-Celtics

  • Tyrese Maxey UNDER 26.5 points
  • Jayson Tatum OVER 39.5 points+rebounds+assists
  • Paul Reed UNDER 17.5 points+rebounds

Tyrese Maxey UNDER 26.5 points

As expected, Maxey is trying to carry the Philadelphia offense while its star is on the mend. This number is right at Maxey's scoring average for the month (26.4 points per game), which has been spent with reigning NBA Most Valuable Player Joel Embiid out with a knee injury.

Without Embiid, Maxey's usage has gone up as the All-Star guard is averaging 21.4 field goal attempts per game in February, his highest in a month this season. Boston has held Maxey under this point total in both meetings this season (each in Philadelphia), holding Maxey to 17-of-42 shooting (40.4%) and 6-of-18 from beyond the arc.

Now, Boston doesn't have Embiid to game plan for on the defensive end and Maxey will get all the attention from a Celtics' defense that is No. 5 in the NBA in scoring (No. 4 at home) and No. 2 in opposing field goal percentage (44.9%).

Boston's also elite at keeping teams off the charity stripe. Maxey only accumulated six free-throw attempts in his two matchups against Boston this season and the Celtics are No. 2 in the NBA in fouls per game (17).

Jayson Tatum OVER 39.5 points+rebounds+assists

Tatum actually hasn't hit this number in three straight games as he's scored under his season average (26.9 points per game) in each contest, but he's played well against Philadelphia in many different ways this season.

In three matchups with the 76ers this season, Tatum has led the Celtics in points, rebounds and assists twice. He is averaging 37.3 PRA against Philadelphia this season, but the obvious omission of Embiid on the Philadelphia defense gives Boston a bump. While Tatum's scoring is down, it hasn't hurt a Boston squad that has won eight straight games.

The Celtics have had a different leading scorer in each of the last three games with Tatum as the key facilitator, dishing out 20 assists during that stretch.

Tatum, averaging 4.8 assists per game, has dished out five or more dimes in eight straight games. Look for him to have a big night against a Philadelphia defense that has allowed 121.7 points over its last seven road games.

Paul Reed UNDER 17.5 points+rebounds

Reed's had the tall task of replacing Embiid in the Philadelphia starting lineup and is averaging less than this number (17.1 points+rebounds per game) since the big man went down. Reed has hit this number in back-to-back games, but now Nicolas Batum is back in the rotation after missing nine games with a hamstring injury.

We've already gone over Boston's elite defense in discussing Maxey's number, but the Celtics are also No. 1 in the NBA in rebounding and No. 6 in allowing points in the paint.
