One is Jayson Tatum's best friend, another was in a package traded for Derrick White, and the last player priced himself out of Boston.

Josh Richardson

Josh Richardson indirectly impacted the Boston Celtics winning Banner 18 by being part of the package to entice the Spurs to part with Derrick White. Before the trade in the 2021-22 season, he averaged 9.7 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in 44 games with the C's on 44% shooting overall and 40% from three on 3.5 attempts. The veteran guard would go on to play a season and a half with the Spurs, a half season with the Pelicans, and most of the 2023-24 season with the Miami Heat.

Josh Richardson went down for the season in March with right shoulder instability. If he is healthy, the Celtics should come knocking to lure the combo guard out of Miami Beach to the hustle and bustle of New England shores.

J-Rich put up 9.9 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 2.4 assists on 44% shooting, 35% from three, and 94% from the foul line in roughly 26 minutes a game across 43 games. With him opting into his player option, he'd need to be traded for.
