3 Former Boston Celtics we want to see in green again: Part 5
Tristan Thompson
The big man is hardly in the news for his play these days but for his Kardashian connection. Tristan Thompson returned the Cleveland Cavs whom he helped win a NBA Championship in 2016. The 33-year-old averaged 3.3 points, and 3.6 rebounds in 11 minutes of play on 61% shooting.
During the 2020-21 season, he averaged 7.6 points and 8.1 rebounds on 51% shooting in 24 minutes of playing time.
There were times when the Boston Celtics preferred Thompson to be on the floor over Robert Williams or Daniel Theis because of his defense and rebounding. A move to sign the former lottery pick would be strictly for added injury insurance for an aging Al Horford and a sidelined Kristaps Porzingis.
I love the idea of the Celts having a few options to fill those minutes.
