On Monday afternoon, Jayson Tatum received the Eastern Conference Player of the Week. That honor comes his way just three weeks after he made his season debut.

The six-time All-Star helped lead the Boston Celtics to a 3-0 record last week. They earned wins over three of the most successful teams in the NBA over the last month, if not longer. Boston beat the Oklahoma City Thunder, Atlanta Hawks, and Charlotte Hornets.

In the Celtics' victory vs. the Thunder, Tatum stuffed the stat sheet with 19 points, 12 rebounds, seven assists, three steals, and a block. The C's snapped Oklahoma City's 12-game winning streak in a potential NBA Finals preview that night at TD Garden.

Two days later, he registered 26 points, 12 assists, and five rebounds in a victory vs. the Atlanta Hawks. Tatum logged a season-high 37 minutes that night. He tallied his sixth double-double in 11 appearances this season.

Sunday in the "Queen City," the four-time All-NBA First Team selection delivered his most impressive offensive performance since returning, in this author's opinion.

Tatum poured in a season-high 32 points. He converted on 12/23 field goal attempts [52.2 percent] and knocked down five of the 10 threes he hoisted. He also dished out eight assists and grabbed five rebounds.

His performance helped Boston clinch its 12th consecutive playoff appearance and fifth straight 50-win season. It's the St. Louis, Missouri, native's 16th career game with at least 30 points without committing a turnover. That's the most in franchise history.

Jayson Tatum puts the NBA on notice

The star forward just received his 13th career weekly honor. That ranks third in Celtics history. Paul Pierce has earned this accolade 17 times. Larry Bird has done so 15.

Tatum averaged 25.7 points, 9.7 rebounds, 6.7 assists, and 1.0 steals in 34.3 minutes while helping Boston go 3-0 last week. The 28-year-old forward became the youngest player in franchise history to reach the 14,000-point milestone. He is now the ninth player in team history to reach that mark.

The former Duke Blue Devil looks more impressive by the game. He is rapidly knocking the rust off. His output, already good enough to earn him Eastern Conference Player of the Week, is a warning to the NBA that the Celtics can beat anyone they come across in a best-of-seven series.
