The Boston Celtics have a hefty injury report for their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Saturday night. Obviously, Jayson Tatum is out due to his Achilles injury recovery, but joining him are three regular starters: Jaylen Brown, Derrick White, and Neemias Queta, the latter of whom also missed Boston’s latest contest.
Brown is on the injury report, listed as questionable, due to low back spasms. As for White, he is listed as probable to play while dealing with a right calf contusion. Queta sprained his left ankle in the Celtics’ recent win over the Orlando Magic, but after being out for Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons, he has been upgraded to questionable for Saturday.
Still, the Celtics could struggle if more than one of the questionable (and probable) guys is sidelined.
What is Celtics vs. Timberwolves full injury report?
Here is the full injury report for both sides heading into Saturday’s game in Minnesota:
Celtics injury report:
- Jaylen Brown - Low Back Spasms - QUESTIONABLE
- Neemias Queta - Left Ankle Sprain - QUESTIONABLE
- Jayson Tatum - Right Achilles Repair - OUT
- Derrick White - Right Calf Contusion - PROBABLE
Timberwolves injury report:
- No injuries listed
Brown has popped up on the injury report before this season, but this is the first time in a while he has been listed. At the tail end of October, he was on the injury report due to a hamstring injury, but he never missed any games because of it.
In fact, up to this point in the season, Brown has appeared in every single game for the Celtics. The same can be said for White, who seems likely to play against the Timberwolves due to his ‘PROBABLE’ status.
Still, if either of them were to miss the game in Minnesota, the Celtics could be in some serious trouble. Without one (or both) of them, Payton Pritchard would be under a ton of pressure to take on extra duties as a scorer and offensive initiator.
As for Queta, his absence would be a brutal one to deal with, too. When he was out against the Pistons, Boston turned to rookie center Amari Williams to play significant minutes.
If Queta is out again in Minnesota, they could look to Williams and Luka Garza once again, which could prove to be an issue against the likes of Rudy Gobert and Naz Reid, especially with the size the Wolves have throughout the rest of their lineup, too.
More updates on the status of Brown, White, and Queta will be provided throughout Saturday.
