Celtics Injury Report vs. Wizards: Sam Hauser update, Malcolm Brogdon, more
By Jack Simone
Opening Night was a dream for the Boston Celtics. From getting their championship rings to being greeted by Celtics legends to absolutely whomping the New York Knicks, 132-109, it was a perfect evening for Boston. And now, they get to follow it up with a trip to DC.
The Celtics will be in the nation’s capital on Thursday night for a date with the Washington Wizards. Old friend Malcolm Brogdon will be there to greet them (from the pine) as they take on what is projected to be one of the worst teams in the league. Kristaps Porzingis will make a return to Washington, but he’ll be glued to the bench.
Here are the injury reports for the Celtics’ game against the Wizards on Thursday, October 24.

Wizards injury report vs. Celtics on October 24
- Malcolm Brogdon OUT (thumb)
- Saddiq Bey OUT (ACL)
Porzingis remains out as he continues to recover from his offseason surgery to repair a knee ailment that he suffered in the NBA Finals. That said, he was all smiles when he got his ring on Tuesday.
Sam Hauser is a new addition to the injury report, as he played in Boston’s season opener. According to Celtics PR, Hauser is dealing with low back pain and will not play on Thursday.
Meanwhile, Brogdon will be sidelined for Washington, spoiling his chance to compete against his former team. According to Josh Robbins of The Athletic, Brogdon underwent surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb in the first week of October.
Saddiq Bey, who the Wizards signed this summer, is still recovering from a torn ACL that he suffered in March of last season while playing for the Atlanta Hawks.
Kyle Kuzma was originally on the injury report due to personal reasons, as he missed Wednesday's practice. However, he will be playing on Thursday against the Celtics.
