The Boston Celtics will be back in action on Friday night with a game against the Washington Wizards. They visited the White House on Thursday as the 2024 NBA Champions, and now, they’re ready for their third NBA Cup game of the season. If they want to advance to the knockout rounds, they will need to win out.

Meanwhile, the Wizards will be entering the night on a nine-game losing streak. They played the Celtics earlier in the season and lost 122-102. Rookies Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington, and Kyshawn George have been solid this season, but the Wizards are on a one-way track to the lottery.

Here are the injury reports for the Celtics’ NBA Cup game against the Wizards on Tuesday, November 22.

Celtics injury report vs. Wizards on Friday, November 22

  • Kristaps Porzingis OUT (posterior tibialis tendon surgery)
  • Al Horford OUT (illness)

Cavaliers injury report vs. Celtics on Friday, November 22

  • Saddiq Bey OUT (ACL)
  • Tristan Vukcevic OUT (knee)
  • Marvin Bagley III QUESTIONABLE (knee)

Kristaps Porzingis is still out and likely won’t return until around December as he continues to recover from offseason surgery.

Boston recently revealed a new update on Porzingis’ recovery plan. According to PR, “Porzingis has reached the next phase in his recovery. As part of his rehab plan, Porzingis and Celtics forward Xavier Tillman will be assigned to practice with the Maine Celtics at the Auerbach Center this afternoon [Monday]. Following this practice, they will be recalled to the Boston Celtics, where Porzingis will continue to ramp up his workload.”

Al Horford is also out against the Wizards due to a non-COVID illness.

Saddiq Bey is out for the year for Washington. He tore his ACL toward the end of last season but inked a three-year deal with the Wizards this summer. He is still recovering from surgery.

Meanwhile, Tristan Vukcevic is dealing with a left knee contusion. He was ruled out of Washington’s recent game against the New York Knicks and is still on the injury report.

Marvin Bagley III is questionable to play against the Celtics due to a groin injury.
