ORLANDO — On Wednesday night, the Boston Celtics will play in their last road game of the season, taking on the Orlando Magic. A victory would see them tie the NBA’s all-time record for most road wins in a single season (34), set by the Golden State Warriors in the 2015-16 season. But they’ll have to do it short-handed against a Magic team that’s still fighting for something.

Orlando is in the midst of a battle for positioning in the Play-In Tournament. They have a two-game lead on the Atlanta Hawks for the seventh seed, and a victory over the Celtics on Wednesday would secure them that position and, in turn, a home game in the Play-In.

Here is the Celtics injury report for their game against the Magic on Wednesday, April 9.

Celtics injury report vs. Magic on Wednesday, April 9

  • Jaylen Brown OUT (right knee posterior impingement)
  • Jrue Holiday OUT (right shoulder impingement)
  • Al Horford OUT (right knee sprain)
  • Kristaps Porzingis OUT (illness reconditioning)
  • Jayson Tatum OUT (left ankle sprain)
  • Derrick White OUT (left ankle sprain)

Magic injury report vs. Celtics on Wednesday, April 9

  • Jalen Suggs OUT (left knee trochlea cartilage tear)
  • Mo Wagner OUT (torn left ACL)

It’s a big rest night for the Celtics, who have nothing left to play for in the regular season. They are locked into the two seed in the East, and since they played on Tuesday night against the New York Knicks (an overtime game, no less), resting players on the second night of a back-to-back makes sense.

Everybody in the starting lineup, plus Al Horford, is out, except for Jaylen Brown.

Rather than joining the rest of the top-six on the injury report, Brown was listed as questionable for Wednesday’s game. He is dealing with a knee issue, but he needs to appear in at least two of the Celtics’ last three games to hit the 65-game league minimum to qualify for NBA awards.

Though Brown stated that reaching that number has had no impact on his decision to play or not, it is certainly suspicious that he may play on a night when everyone else will likely sit.

However, less than an hour before tip-off, Brown was officially ruled out, making the whole debacle even more confusing.

Meanwhile, on the side of Orlando, only two players are listed on their injury report. Jalen Suggs and Mo Wagner are both out for the year with their respective injuries.

  • Payton Pritchard

  • Luke Kornet

Here is what the first five for the Magic could look like:
