The Boston Celtics improved to 4-0 on Monday night, taking down the Milwaukee Bucks behind a flurry of moments at the end of the third quarter. Outside of a few rough patches, the Celtics have looked almost flawless. And now, they are staring down a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference finals.
Tyrese Haliburton and the Indiana Pacers have had a rough start to their season. Heading into their Wednesday night tilt against the Celtics, they are 1-3, with their only win coming over the Detroit Pistons in their season opener. Since then, they’ve played nothing but playoff teams, and it hasn’t gone well. And that’s not going to change against the Celtics.
Here are the injury reports for the Celtics’ game against the Pacers on Wednesday, October 30.
Celtics injury report vs. Pacers on October 30
- Sam Hauser PROBABLE (back)
- Kristaps Porzingis OUT (foot)
Pacers injury report vs. Celtics on October 30
- Myles Turner QUESTIONABLE (ankle)
- Johnny Furphy QUESTIONABLE (illness)
- James Wiseman OUT (Achilles)
Kristaps Porzingis is still out for Boston, as he is not expected to be back on the court until December. He’s still recovering from offseason surgery to repair a rare foot injury he suffered in the NBA Finals.
Shams Charania of ESPN provided an update on Porzingis’ recovery on Tuesday, noting that he is progressing well and the team is still targeting a return in December.
Sam Hauser has missed three straight games since the Celtics’ season opener against the New York Knicks. He’s been dealing with back issues since the summer.
Myles Turner has a left ankle sprain and is questionable to play against the Celtics. Meanwhile, rookie forward Johnny Furphy is also questionable due to an illness.
Indiana signed James Wiseman to a contract this summer, but in his first game with the team, he tore his Achilles. The 23-year-old big man had surgery to repair the injury and will almost certainly be out for the season.
Projected starting lineups for Celtics vs. Pacers
The Celtics starting lineup is going to look the same as it has every night. Don’t expect Boston to change their plans, barring an injury or other absence.
- Jrue Holiday
- Derrick White
- Jaylen Brown
- Jayson Tatum
- Al Horford
Should Turner miss the game, the Pacers will have to adjust their starting lineup. That said, he will be in the first five if he does play, so Indiana’s starting group will wholly depend on his status.
- Tyrese Haliburton
- Andrew Nembhard
- Aaron Nesmith
- Pascal Siakam
- Myles Turner (Isaiah Jackson)
