The Boston Celtics went 1-1 on their Sunday-Monday back-to-back, dropping their game against the Cleveland Cavaliers but beating the Miami Heat in a dominant performance. Now, they are 17-4 on the season, still trailing only the Cavs at the top of the Eastern Conference standings.

As for the Detroit Pistons, they are having somewhat of a renaissance season. Well, relatively speaking. Just one year after tying the all-time record for most consecutive loses in NBA history, they are firmly in the mix to make the Play-In Tournament. But on Wednesday night, they’ll have to go toe-to-toe with the defending champs.

Here are the injury reports for the Celtics’ game against the Pistons on Wednesday, December 4.

  • Jrue Holiday OUT (left knee tendinopathy)
  • Jayson Tatum OUT (right patella tendinopathy)

Pistons injury report vs. Celtics on Wednesday, December 4

  • Ausar Thompson OUT (rest)
  • Bobi Klintman OUT (calf)

The Celtics’ injury report looks a lot different heading into Wednesday night than it did before the team’s win over the Heat on Monday.

Boston was without Jrue Holiday, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, and Sam Hauser against the Heat, and Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Derrick White were all listed on the injury report during the lead-up to the contest.

Now, only two of those guys are listed on the injury report.

Jrue Holiday was questionable to play once again, as he is still dealing with left knee tendinopathy. He has only missed two games so far this season, but Wednesday will mark his third, as he is out.

Meanwhile, Jayson Tatum was named to the injury report for the second straight game with the same right patella tendinopathy. He has yet to miss a game this year, as he makes it a point to contest the Celtics when they try to get him to rest. Wednesday will mark his first absence of the season, as Boston ruled him out pre-game.

Ausar Thompson will be out on Wednesday for rest. In addition, Bobi Klintman, who has yet to play in a game this year, is still dealing with the same calf contusion that he has been being reported since before the start of the season. Everyone else will presumably be active for Detroit.
