There are four Boston Celtics players listed on the team’s injury report ahead of their game against the Detroit Pistons on Sunday afternoon. Jayson Tatum and Luka Garza are both out, Jaylen Brown is questionable, and Derrick White is probable. If the Celtics are without Brown and White against the Pistons, it could be a relatively rough night.
As for the Pistons, they had three players on their injury report for their game against the Houston Rockets on Friday. An eye should be kept on all of them for the game vs. Boston. Jaden Ivey was out and will be out. Marcus Sasser was out, and Caris LeVert was questionable but did not end up playing.
Both teams could be without some key players on Sunday.
Celtics injury report vs. Pistons on 10/26
Here is the full Celtics injury report for the game:
- Jaylen Brown - Left Hamstring Strain Reconditioning - QUESTIONABLE
- Luka Garza - Concussion Protocol - QUESTIONABLE
- Jayson Tatum - Right Achilles Repair - OUT
- Derrick White - Right Wrist Sprain PROBABLE
Here is what the Pistons' injury report could look like based on who was active for their game against the Rockets on Friday:
- Jaden Ivey - Arthroscopic Procedure on Right Knee - OUT
- Marcus Sasser - Hip - QUESTIONABLE
- Caris LeVert - Hamstring - QUESTIONABLE
Brown is back on the injury report after spending just one game off it. He was listed as questionable to play ahead of the Celtics’ season opener against the Philadelphia 76ers due to a hamstring strain he suffered in their final preseason game against the Toronto Raptors.
He was not listed on the injury report ahead of their game vs. the New York Knicks on Friday, but he’s back among those listed ahead of Sunday.
This is the first time White has been listed on the Celtics’ injury report this season. He’s dealing with a right wrist sprain, though it’s unclear exactly when he picked up that ailment.
Garza took a hit to the head on Opening Night vs. the 76ers. He did not play against the Knicks but did travel with the team to New York.
Tatum is obviously still out as he recovers from the Achilles injury he suffered at the end of last season.
Ivey underwent a procedure to relieve right knee discomfort on October 16 and was slated to be reevaluated in four weeks. He will not be available to play vs. the Celtics.
The statuses of Sasser and LeVert are likely both up in the air.
