Celtics Injury Report vs. Hornets: Jaylen Brown, Al Horford, and more
By Jack Simone
The Boston Celtics picked up a win against the Charlotte Hornets on Friday night. The 124-109 victory was lowlighted by some questionable actions in the fourth quarter, including Grant Williams effectively tackling Jayson Tatum at half-court. Regardless, Boston’s win took them to 5-1 on the season.
Both sides were missing some key pieces for the contest. Al Horford was sidelined for the Celtics, and Mark Williams and Brandon Miller were both out for the Hornets. Meanwhile, Nick Richards, who started the contest, was ruled out mid-way through the game, forcing Charlotte to make do without their top two centers.
Here are the injury reports for the Celtics’ second straight game against the Hornets on Saturday, November 2.
Celtics injury report vs. Hornets on November 2
- Al Horford AVAILABLE
- Sam Hauser AVAILABLE (back)
- Jaylen Brown OUT (hip)
- Kristaps Porzingis OUT (foot)
Hornets injury report vs. Celtics on November 2
- Brandon Miller AVAILABLE
- Nick Richards OUT (shoulder)
- Mark Williams OUT (foot)
- DaQuan Jeffries OUT (hand)
- Seth Curry OUT (knee)
Kristaps Porzingis is still out as he continues to recover from offseason surgery to repair a foot injury he sustained in the NBA Finals.
After missing Friday’s contest, Al Horford is off the injury report heading into Saturday night. He’s been sitting out at least one leg of back-to-backs since re-joining the Celtics in 2021.
Jaylen Brown, on the other hand, is a new addition to the injury report. He played on Friday but will miss the second leg of the two-game series due to a left hip flexor strain.
And just like on Friday, Sam Hauser was listed as probable but will be available to play. He’s still dealing with back issues that began popping up over the summer.
Mark Williams, DaQuan Jeffries, and Nick Richards are still out for this game. Williams and Jeffries haven't appeared in a game yet this season. Richards was ruled out mid-way through Friday's contest and will now miss the second leg.
Brandon Miller is available for the first time since Charlotte's season opener, and Seth Curry is a new addition to Charlotte's injury report, as he is dealing with some knee soreness. He'll miss the Saturday night affair.
