The Boston Celtics lost their first NBA Cup game of the season to the Atlanta Hawks on Tuesday night. The loss moved them to 9-3 on the year and 0-1 in the NBA Cup, and it was an ugly one. Atlanta out-played them in every aspect of the game. Joe Mazzulla admitted as much after the contest.
As for the Brooklyn Nets, they just barely scraped by in their last game on Monday, earning a win against the New Orleans Pelicans. Brooklyn and Boston squared off just a couple of games ago, and despite the nets jumping out to an early 16-2 lead, the Celtics managed to climb all the way back and earn a victory.
