Unlike previous seasons, the Celtics did not have a high draft pick. Also unlike previous seasons, the Celtics made the correct decision with a late first-round pick.

While Rob Williams isn’t a star player, at 27th overall, he turned out to be a great pick, and better than any players that went after him or were undrafted. That would make the Celtics 3/5 (60%) on their first-round picks in three years, a big reason why they’ve had sustained success in recent seasons.
