The Boston Celtics demolished the Eastern Conference’s top seed, the Milwaukee Bucks, 140-99 on March 30 — and Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown showed why they are the best duo in the NBA. The Jays combined for 70 points in just three-quarters of work and nearly outscored the Bucks in that span.
As the playoffs approach, Boston Celtics fans are witnessing greatness at the highest level.
An absurd stat from that Bucks win is that it was the 12th time Tatum and Brown had 30-point games this season, making them the first since Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant in the 2002-03 season. Tatum and Brown being mentioned in the same conversation as Shaq and Kobe shows how great they’ve been. It’s not every day that players in today’s NBA are being mentioned with one of the best duos in the history of the league.

The Boston Celtics are ready for the playoffs
Tatum and Brown accomplishing this feat against the Bucks was a message to the league that they are ready for the playoffs. The Jays can seriously put themselves with the top duos of all time if they win a championship this season. A championship would ultimately validate all of these amazing stats and honors they have accumulated.
The Jays have been the best duo in the league this season, and they are scoring at a high clip. Tatum and Brown both rank in the top six for players who have scored the most baskets this season. As some fans would say, the Jays are true bucket-getters.

Ultimately, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that the Jays could go down as a top-five or ten duos in NBA history. If they can win multiple championships to validate their great play, they will be in the conversation.
