Suspended Boston Celtics head coach loses fiancé Nia Long due to affair
It was a long time coming, but TMZ can finally confirm that suspended Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka has lost his fiancé due to an affair, or according to Joe Budden, multiple affairs, with Cs team personnel.
With that said, TMZ’s story from December 6 only focuses on the Danny Ainge hire with whom Udoka had an intimate relationship — an occurrence the former Celtics GM was not happy about.
Long recently ripped the organization for not checking in on the well-being of her or her kids, one of whom she shares with Udoka. This all to say, this episode is one the Boston Celtics hope reaches a conclusion when Udoka eventually moves on from the organization.
Joe Mazzulla has saved the Boston Celtics
There is an undeniable discipline that this Boston Celtics team possesses in 2022-23, which is something that could have been easily explained had it been absent. The stress of dealing with the media fallout for the players was something the veteran locker-room handled with grace, and the losses of two frontcourt members who were expected to play big minutes this season, Danilo Gallinari and Robert Williams, created heroes out of guys like Sam Hauser and Luke Kornet who have stepped up in their places.
Joe Mazzulla, coming in with questions from many about his own troubled past, has navigated the ship brilliantly, unlocking a new level to the offense. If this campaign has any similar traits to last season, hopefully it’s the defense locking in after a slow start and both sides of the ball are covered by these Boston Celtics.
There is serious potential for a championship this season, with Boston owning the best odds via owning the best record in the league as of this writing. If Mazzulla gets his full roster back totally healthy, there is an endless ceiling for this year’s team.
That this conversation is happening right now is coach of the year fodder for the interim head coach who is outcoaching any splashy hire of the past several offseasons.
