The Boston Celtics have officially run their win streak to five games following a November 11 victory against the Denver Nuggets at home, and they look to make it six in a row on Saturday night against the Detroit Pistons.

Of course one of those wins during Boston’s streak was against Detroit at the T.D. Garden, so now the two will battle in their second of four matchups during the 2022-23 season on November 12 at the Little Caesars Arena. The final two games of their four-game series this season will be in February a little over a week apart.

This meeting tonight is merely days apart, and the Pistons probably would’ve liked more time to regroup after a 16-point beatdown this past Wednesday. Then again, Detroit also played last night, and they took another loss to the New York Knicks to fall to 3-10 on the year.

During the teams’ first meeting, it was (who would’ve guessed) Jayson Tatum that led both teams in scoring with a 31-point outing, — his sixth 30-point scoring performance of the season. He notched No. 7 against the Nuggets last night with 34. Jaylen Brown also went for 30 against Detroit, his fifth 30-point performance of the season.

While the Pistons had six double-digit scorers against the Boston Celtics this past Wednesday, none notched above 20 points. With a starting five all averaging at least 12.5 points per game, Detroit will need several guys to step up to cover a sizeable spread tonight.

Can Boston win its 10th game of the season, or will they suffer their first awful loss of the 2022-23 season? Hardwood Houdini has your odds and a prediction for Friday night between the Boston Celtics and Detroit Pistons on NBC Sports Boston, Bally Sports Detroit, and NBA League Pass (all odds provided by WynnBET):

Boston Celtics vs. Detroit Pistons odds, spread, over/under

According to WynnBet, the Celtics are a 10-point favorite against the Pistons at home. Detroit is a road underdog at +350, with the Cs moneyline set at -450. The over/under for the game has been placed at 226 points.

Celtics vs. Pistons prediction

Detroit can’t defend, Boston isn’t great at it either, and the over was a sweat-less bet the last time these two teams played. The Houdini isn’t going to overthink this one. Send us on the over.

Pick: 226o (-110)
